True story telling lives here . . .

You have an idea. You have developed characters and an established scene. You have seen this movie play out already in your mind. You can see the emotions on your characters faces, you can sense their anticipation of what is coming next. The suspense is building for the BIG story reveal. People will gasp, you can hear your viewers and their disbelief of what they just witnessed . . .

Now if only you can bring that story and those characters to life. If you could only show people what you see building in your mind and on the paper in which you write it on.

Short Films

As always, there’s so much that you want to share, so much dialog that you want to include and yet very limited time to get it all in.

Short films bring us the challenge of condensing character development, story line and overall arching lesson/impression to the audience in a way that is not only understood, but is deeply felt and leaves a desire to want to learn/view/hear more.

It’s a balance of specific intentional dialog and capturing effect visual elements to clearly establish all the information not known and elements “not said” within the entire film. It’s about leading the audience to conclusions using only visual suggestions, allowing the set speak more than 1,000,000 words about the character(s), the mood, the state of life and helping the audience better understand the story and character(s) as they move and engage for only minutes on the screen.

How do you tell a compelling story with such little screen time & limited visual information you ask? Well it’s done very carefully. This process is thought out completely, each important detail is explored verbally, non-verbally and the story is enhanced by very specific visuals.

Why a short film?

Well, the shorter the film the relatively quicker the project. Allows you to move on to the next story you wish to tell. Short films can be an excellent way to capture an idea for a feature length film or a potential series idea with minimal costs (compared to a complete feature length film) and pitch the idea to investors for funding. Who knows, it could become something more substantial.
