Vienna Hank Choreography

Director · Cinematographer · Editor

Two dancers move through warm interior light in Vienna Hank's 2023 choreography film.

The film

Three dancers move through a hushed house, shifting between close interior moments and wider room compositions before the film resolves on a closing door.

The approach

The piece holds a restrained, slightly haunted mood: warm rooms, soft shadows, and choreography that feels contained inside the architecture of the house.

The camera stays close to timing and expression, letting the dancers carry the emotion while the light moves from amber interiors into a cooler blue ending.

Dance film

Warm rooms, quiet movement and a closing door.

The film keeps the house present without letting it overpower the choreography, using stillness, shadow and carefully held frames to give the movement room to breathe.

Warm interior light gives the early sections an intimate, enclosed feeling, while the wider frames let the room, floor and window lines support the dancers' positions.

By the final section, the palette cools and the frame settles near the door, turning the last movement into a clean visual punctuation point.

Performance

Choreography stays central.

Camera placement and edits follow the dancers' timing, keeping the viewer inside the rhythm of the piece.

Lighting

Warm, mysterious interior shape.

Window direction, amber interiors and deep shadows give the house a quiet tension around the performers.

Edit

A contained rhythm with a clean final image.

The door-closing beat gives the short a final image that lands with the music instead of simply fading away.
